Owned and operated by Matt Hanko, Lone Oak serves California’s Central Valley with over two decades of combined professional tree care experience. Customers have chosen us time and time again because of our great customer service and understanding of the hassle tree work can be!
Founded with Passion, Backed by Science
Lone Oak founder Matt Hanko obtained a Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, as a Soil Scientist. While at Cal Poly, he took several classes in his special interest, Ornamental Horticulture. In addition, he took a variety of plant identification, arboriculture, and landscape construction classes. Upon graduation, he practiced Environmental Consulting for 15 years, performing soil and groundwater remediation. This laid the groundwork for business ventures following his time in higher education.
The Start of Lone Oak Tree Service
Matt moved on to a family-owned business in General Engineering for nine years prior to starting his own business, Lone Oak Tree Service. He practiced tree care services during college and then for 25 years following graduation as a hobby, which turned into his full-time profession and passion!
Matt Hanko has recently become a member of the International Society of Arboriculture and is working towards becoming a Certified Arborist. As a result, he’s able to serve Oakdale and the surrounding Central Valley communities with the expertise you deserve from a tree care professional.
